Drama Surrounding the Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors coaching staff was not happy to see forward Pascal Siakam foul out of a recent game, they were even more pissed off he didn't sit on their bench and headed straight for the locker room.

Siakam's decision to not stay on the bench with his teammates landed him a one-game 'benching/suspension' from the team.

Sounds like the trouble in paradise is being downplayed by the players, however, Siakam's name has surfaced previously in James Harden trade talks, so perhaps if this isn't solved quickly, the internal matters could be headed external.

Raptors guard Fred VanVleet had this to say to the media:

I don’t think anybody’s happy to see him not play, but that was the decision that came down, so you roll with it. We’re all in this together and everybody makes mistakes. This is something that’s not gonna linger around us. P was great. He was great, he handled it very well, he was a great energy for us on the bench tonight even though he wasn’t playing, and we can’t wait to get him back out there with us.

Siakam is beloved by his teammates but there's no doubt he's been struggling since last year's playoffs. So far this season he's averaging 18.7 points and 9 rebounds. Keep an eye on the Raptors, if the team continues to struggle and Siakam can't find his groove, there's a chance this turns into DeMar DeRozan 2.0.
