3 Potential Destinations for Pistons' Blake Griffin

The Blake Griffin trade talks continue as the Detroit Pistons are finding it extremely difficult to unload Griffin and his massive salary. While a trade is option #1, the more realistic option is the Pistons will likely have to buy Griffin out, where he then would be free to sign with any other team.

If/when Griffin is bought out by the Pistons, expect these three teams to be at the top of his list of preferred destinations:

Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers reuniting with Griffin would be everything we didn't know we needed in the NBA. While he's a much different player now that he's not jumping over cars with ease, Griffin can provide some depth to the Clips' frontcourt and can be some scoring and rebounding off the bench. In 20 games this season with Detroit, Griffin has averaged 12.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. Adding Griffin for their playoff run would do wonders for Kawhi and company.

Toronto Raptors

The Raptors continue to look for some options to add to their front court as they remain hesitant to make any drastic changes to their roster. Long-time Raptor Kyle Lowry isn't likely getting traded so the team will need to find some cheap alternatives to add to their mix. Signing Griffin after a buy out would be the perfect recipe and give the team some more depth with their bigs. The Raptors are getting used to playing small ball and Griffin could easily slide into their rotation and be a key piece down the stretch.

Brooklyn Nets

Who wouldn't want to join a super team? Griffin has enjoyed his time in the eastern conference and it's likely he hears from the Nets once the Pistons let him go. The Nets are desperate for some more forward depth and Griffin would give the team some flexibility with the lineup. If Brooklyn comes calling, Griffin is likely headed there stat.
