Rumor: John Collins to the Minnesota Timberwolves

According to a source close to Atlanta Hawk John Collins, the power forward has a desire to play with Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Collins, who turned down a contract extension before the deadline is seeking a max deal this offseason. The 23-year-old is having a nice season, averaging 18.0 points, 7.6 rebounds, shooting 54% from the field and 39% from deep.

Collins likely sees Towns as a player that compliments his game and having both of these talented bigs in your lineup could do wonders for the T-Wolves. They can both spread the floor could work a beautiful high-low post game.

The Hawks are sitting 11th in the eastern conference with a 16-20 record, one game back of the 8th placed Toronto Raptors. Trading Collins before the March 25th deadline makes no sense for the Hawks. They are going to want to see what their roster can do under Nate McMillan who recently accepted the interim head coaching position.

This offseason though is a whole new ball game for the team. Collins is likely gone and Minnesota will be at the top of the list of team's to watch.

When Collins is making plays like these, there's going to be a ton of interest:
