The Nuggets also send a 2032 unprotected first rounder to Brooklyn.
Johnson has been on the trade block for a couple of years, as the Nets continue their rebuild.
For Denver, the move saves them $17 million and they have their full midlevel exception, allowing them to target another solid piece in free agency.
Porter Jr. averaged 18.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game for Denver last season and has a championship ring from the Nuggets' NBA title in 2023.
Johnson averaged 18.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 57 games for Brooklyn, while sitting out time with an ankle injury.
