Video: Giannis Antetokounmpo Goes Down With Ugly Ankle Injury

It was not the start to the night the Milwaukee Bucks were hoping for as they took on the Houston Rockets on Thursday. Not even one minute into the game Giannis Antetokounmpo went down with a right-ankle injury after driving to the bucket.

The team is hopeful from the early prognosis that it's not going to be something serious that keeps their superstar out of the lineup. The 26-year-old 'Greek Freak' went to the locker room for treatement and later returned to the bench during the second quarter after he'd been ruled out for the game.

His head coch Mike Budenholzer had this to say after the game via The Athletic's Eric Nehm:

I think we're hopeful that it's not serious. We'll see how he responds to treatment tonight, treatment tomorrow. Get an update at some point tomorrow.

The Bucks ended up losing the game 143-136 as Rockets Kevin Porter Jr went off for a 50 spot. The team now heads to Chi-Town to take on the Bulls and then plays the Brooklyn Nets back-to-back on Sunday and Tuesday. It's likely Giannis will be kept out until Tuesday at the earliest.
