Rumor: Lakers Interested in Carmelo Anthony

With Kyle Kuzma likely on his way out of town, sources say that the Los Angeles Lakers have their eyes on an old friend of LeBron James as a replacement.

Carmelo Anthony and LeBron came into the league together in 2003, and have been interested in partnering up ever since their run as teammates on the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Recently, 'Melo talked about the discussions that were had at that time:

At 37 years old now, Anthony isn't quite the same player he was 13 years ago, but he's still a valuable scorer with a reliable 3-point shot, as evidenced by his 13.4 points per game with Portland this past season, while shooting 41% from behind the arc.

The Lakers had problems coming up with a dependable 3rd option behind James and Anthony Davis this season, which became all the more pressing with each of them missing plenty of time with injuries.

'Melo & LeBron... It could finally happen after all these years.
