Rumor: Rockets In Trade Talks To Add Another Lottery Pick

The Houston Rockets already own the No. 2 pick in this month's NBA Draft, which will yield them a potentially franchise-changing talent. Now, they're in talks with the Indiana Pacers about adding the No. 13 pick as well.

Sources tell the Indianapolis Star that new Pacers coach Rick Carlisle wants another ready-for-prime-time player to plug into his lineup, as he feels the team is ready to make a playoff run.

The report says that if the Pacers feel that the player(s) available to them at No. 13 aren't ready to be a part of the rotation this coming season, Carlisle would like to see the pick traded for a piece he can use.

The Rockets have been part of the discussion with Indiana, as they are really looking to build from the ground up, and a player who still needs some seasoning would be a much better fit for them, to go along with the star-in-the-making they'll be selecting with the second pick in the draft.

As is usually the case, two teams with very different needs can often make for good trading partners.
