Stunning Upset As Team USA Loses to 30-Point Underdog Nigeria in Olympic Tune-Up

It's being called an historic upset. Yes, it's only an exhibition game, but with Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard, and Bradley Beal headlining the offense, not many would have predicted a stunning loss in a tune-up game against a 30-point underdog.

Nigeria is ranked 22nd in the FIBA World Basketball Rankings, and just secured the biggest win in the nation's history. They're led by Precious Achiuwa and Gabe Vincent of the Miami Heat and Chimezie Metu of the Sacramento Kings. Yes, those are NBA players. Just not with quite the same star power—or talent—as KD, Dame, Jayson Tatum and Bradley Beal.

They rained down a stream of 3-pointers on the Americans, and held the NBA All-Stars to just 87 points. Team USA are the overwhelming Gold Medal favorites in the upcoming Olympics, and this should serve as a wake-up call that they won't be able to sleep-walk through the Games.

The U.S. had only ever lost two other exhibition games in its history since the formation of the Dream Team in 1992. The last came in 2019, when the U.S. went on to finish 7th at the World Cup.

KD and Co. have four more tune-up games to get their act together. And four more chances for the Durant trolls to come out to play:
