Detroit Pistons Sign Kelly Olynyk

The Detroit Pistons have signed Kelly Olynyk to a three-year, $37 million contract.

In 70 games this past season with the Miami Heat and Houston Rockets, Olynyk started in the vast majority of them, while playing steady defense. He also provided decent scoring in the process, as he averaged 13.5 PPG. With that, he also averaged 7.0 rebounds per game and 2.9 assists.

Olynyk will be heading into his ninth season in the league, so he does have his fair share of experience. Besides playing for the Heat and Rockets, he also spent the beginning of his career with the Boston Celtics. In 2013-14, he made the All-Rookie team, too.

This signing isn't the biggest one, but it is still rather noteworthy. The Pistons are adding a big man in Olynyk who can do a little bit of everything. That's never a bad thing at the end of the day.
