Terry Rozier Gets Massive Max Deal From the Hornets

Terry Rozier's career year this past season has paid off big-time for the 27-year-old guard. The Charlotte Hornets have signed Rozier to a 4-year, $97 million dollar max extension.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, this puts Rozier amongst the elite  of guards in terms of pay scale.

After coming over from the Boston Celtics in a trade two years ago, Rozier was eventually shifted from point guard to shooting guard. And it's been a big success, with Rozier earning the nickname "Scary Terry" for his clutch shooting.

He recorded career highs in several statistical categories in 2020-21, in points (20.4 PPG), assists (4.2), FG% (45.0), steals (1.3), and minutes (34.5). He also ranked 5th in the NBA in 3-pointers made, with 222 long-range bombs.

The extension puts Rozier into the range of the Top 10 highest-paid guards in the league, in amongst the likes of Jaylen Brown and DeMar DeRozan.
