LeBron James Speaks Out On Getting Vaccine: "It Was The Right Thing To Do"

It's become the most divisive issue in the NBA this fall, even pitting some players against each other. Now, The King has made it clear: LeBron James is vaccinated, and says he researched it and decided to do it "not only for me, but for my family and friends."

James said at first he was "very skeptical" about the vaccines when they came out, but since then he's done his research, and concluded that "it was the right thing to do."

After having several "costly" absences due to COVID-related issues last season, Lakers head coach Frank Vogel is extremely pleased that his team has reached full vaccination status. "It's huge," said Vogel. "Not every team in the league this year has that luxury, but we do."

Vogel also intimated that management was able to help players make informed decisions. "There were a lot of conversations along the way, and I'm super proud of our guys."

LeBron wouldn't go so far, however, as to suggest he'd be willing to advocate for the vaccine on the league's behalf. "I know what I did for me and my family," he added. "I know what some of my friends did for their families, but as far as speaking for everybody and their individuality and things they want to do, that's not my job."

One step at a time.
