Cleveland Cavaliers' Rookie Set To Return

Cleveland Cavaliers rookie Evan Mobley is surprisingly set to return for the team on Saturday when they take on the Orlando Magic.

A week and a half ago, Cleveland announced that Mobley would be out for two-to-four weeks with a right elbow strain. Yet, the 20-year-old has recovered faster than expected, which is spectacular news for the Cavaliers.

In 15 games this season, Mobley has averaged 14.6 PPG, 8.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists. With this, the third overall pick of the 2021 NBA draft is already making a case for himself to be named Rookie of the Year at season's end. Due to the fact that he didn't come close to missing the maximum four weeks, he now has plenty of time to make his case to win the award.

This is perfect timing for the Cavaliers, as they have fallen to 11th place in the Eastern Conference with an 8-9 record. However, they are only a game behind the Philadelphia 76ers, Atlanta Hawks and Boston Celtics. Thus, Mobley coming back could very well help them leapfrog those teams and get themselves back into a playoff spot.
