Cavaliers Keeping Forward Around

The Cleveland Cavaliers will be keeping Lamar Stevens around, as they are guaranteeing his $1.5 million salary for the remainder of the season.

The Cavaliers had until Friday to release Stevens from his contract, but clearly, they are impressed with what he has been providing them. With this, he will be sticking with the Cavaliers.

In 24 games this season with the Cavaliers, Stevens has averaged 3.8 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 0.5 assists. With that, he's started in two contests for the team but has primarily come off the bench. Although he hasn't been dominant, he surely has done enough to earn himself a job for the remainder of the campaign. He's a good depth player for them to have.

In 64 career games for the Cavaliers over two seasons, Stevens has averaged 4.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 0.5 assists. However, he now officially will be able to build upon those numbers from here. With that, he also is locked up until the end of the 2022-23 season and has a team option for the 2023-24 campaign.
