NBA Rumors: Celtics Interested In Nuggets Veteran Forward

The Boston Celtics are interested in acquiring Denver Nuggets forward Jeff Green.

At this time, the Celtics have a 20-21 record and are 10th in the Eastern Conference. They certainly have been underwhelming, as they aren't even in a playoff spot at this juncture. Thus, it makes sense that they are now exploring the trade market.

Green isn't necessarily a star, but he would be a nice addition to the Celtics. In 36 games this season with Denver, the 35-year-old has averaged 10.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per contest. Out of those 36 contests, he also has started in 24 of them and has averaged 24.7 minutes per game.

Green would offer solid versatility to Boston's lineup, as he's capable of playing power forward, small forward, and center. With that, he also has over 1,000 games of NBA experience, so he could be the type of locker room presence who helps the Celtics get over this very rough patch. He is also a familiar face, as he previously played four seasons with the team.

Alas, we'll have to wait and see if a deal between these two teams comes to fruition.
