NBA Rumors: These 4 Teams Are The Top Suitors For Jerami Grant

We're exactly a month out from the NBA trade deadline (Feb. 10), and many insiders fully expect the Detroit Pistons' Jerami Grant to be one of the top trade targets. Four teams have emerged as the most active suitors, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic: The Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards, New York Knicks and Portland Trail Blazers.

Grant is averaging 20.1 points and 4.8 rebounds, and with one year remaining on his contract, is eligible for a 4-year, $112M extension this summer, according to Charania. We have to wonder if the rebuilding Pistons would be willing to pay out that kind of money to a soon-to-be 28-year-old when they are years away from contending.

The most high-profile suitor, the Los Angeles Lakers, might have a tough time putting together an agreeable package for Grant, though it's certain that Talen Horton-Tucker would have to be included in any deal. It's unknown if the Pistons are THT fans.

The Wizards have plenty of assets to send Detroit's way, some of whom were obtained from the Lakers in the Russell Westbrook trade.

The Knicks could have the draft capital and young pieces to get a deal done, while the Trail Blazers are desperate to add another star piece to give them a chance in the West. 22-year-old Anfernee Simons has been increasing his value of late, and would be a nice piece for the Pistons, along with a Portland first-rounder.

Grant is currently out with torn thumb ligaments, but should be back by the trade deadline.
