Heat To Sign Forward

Once Haywood Highsmith's 10-day deal expires on Monday, the Miami Heat will be signing him to a three-year contract.

Highsmith is currently under his third 10-day contract with Miami. Yet, it is rather clear that he has impressed them significantly, as he now has earned himself a home for three seasons. That is definitely a major accomplishment, as the 25-year-old didn't play in the NBA since the 2018-19 campaign before joining the Heat.

In nine games with Miami, Highsmith has averaged 2.7 points and 1.6 rebounds. The forward has worked well coming off the bench for them, as he has provided a bit of offense and solid defense. Now, he will have the opportunity to continue for quite some time.

The Heat currently are first place in the Eastern Conference with a 43-22 record. They are preparing for the postseason and now have officially added to their depth for it. It will be interesting to see how Highsmith performs from here.
