Hornets Keeping Veteran Guard Around

The Charlotte Hornets are signing Isaiah Thomas to another 10-day contract.

During his first 10-day contract with the Hornets, Thomas averaged 9.7 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 13.7 minutes per game. Overall, he is showing clear signs that he can still be a serviceable NBA player, so it makes sense that Charlotte is giving him another shot with this second 10-day contract.

It has been an eventful season for Thomas, as he has also had short stints with both the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks, too. In eight total games on the year, he has averaged 9.0 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.9 assists. Now, he will have the opportunity to build on these numbers from here.

In 536 career games between the Sacramento Kings, Phoenix Suns, Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Lakers, Denver Nuggets, Washington Wizards, New Orleans Pelicans, Mavericks, and Hornets, Thomas has averaged 17.9 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 4.9 assists. With that, he is a two-time All-Star and one-time All-NBA Second Team member. Here's to hoping that the veteran can earn himself a permanent spot with the Hornets from here and build on his very good resume.
