NBA Rumors: 3 Teams Have Interest In Knicks Center

The New York Knicks are going to have a big decision to make this winter about 4th-year center Mitchell Robinson. As an unrestricted free agent, there are rumors that at least three teams will have interest in signing the soon-to-be 24-year-old.

Steve Popper of Newsday reports that the Detroit Pistons, Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder will all investigate pursuing the 7-footer. All three teams are lacking rim protectors, while the Knicks already have a couple of them on the roster in Nerlens Noel and Jericho Sims.

Robinson has had his best stretch of the season of late, making the Knicks' impending decision that much more difficult. With double-digit points and rebounds in most games this month, he's proving his value more and more as the season progresses.

Robinson has avoided talking about his contract situation, and he can still sign an extension up until June 30th, but as Popper notes, "he has hesitated to sign an extension before free agency starts."

He's averaging 8.4 points and 8.7 rebounds with 1.7 blocks on the season.
