NBA Rumors: 76ers Interested In Center

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Philadelphia 76ers are interested in DeAndre Jordan.

Jordan was just waived by the Los Angeles Lakers, and teams are able to put a claim on him. When seeing as how he currently has a league-minimum contract, it seems possible that the 76ers will just aim to take his contract now. However, they could always try to sign him as a free agent if no other team claims him.

The 76ers could use depth at the center position, and Jordan would be an excellent option to provide them with just that. In 32 games with the Lakers this season, he averaged 4.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 0.4 assists. Overall, his numbers were low for his standards, but he also was barely utilized during his last few months with the team. With Philadelphia, he could have more chances to play.

The 76ers are on the hunt for a backup center because they recently traded Andre Drummond. Let's see if they successfully add Jordan to their roster shortly.
