Washington Wizards Sign Guard

The Washington Wizards are set to sign Jordan Schakel to a two-way contract.

Before the Schakel signing becomes official, the Wizards will need to release either Joel Ayayi or Cassius Winston to open a two-way spot for him. Once this occurs, the 23-year-old will officially be a part of Washington's roster.

In December, Schakel signed a 10-day contract with the Wizards, so he is a familiar face to the organization. In two games with the team, he averaged 1.5 rebounds but did not record a single point of assist. If given the chance to get more minutes with Washington, this will surely change.

Schakel has spent the majority of this season with the Capital City Go-Go. In 21 starts with the team, he has averaged 14.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists. Overall, he certainly has made an impact in the G League, so it's understandable why Washington is now giving him this promotion.

Alas, let's see how Schakel performs from here.
