NBA Rumors: Lakers Guard To Pick Up Player Option

While speaking with reporters, Los Angeles Lakers guard Kendrick Nunn said that it's a "no-brainer" that he will be exercising his player option for the 2022-23 season.

It's easy to understand why Nunn is deciding to opt-in to the last year of his contract. This is because he missed the entirety of this season due to a knee injury. Thus, it makes sense for him to take the $5.25 million player option and try to head into next season healthy.

The Lakers certainly could have used Nunn on their roster this season. In his first two seasons with the Miami Heat, he averaged 15.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 3.0 assists. Having this kind of production would have come in handy given how poorly the 2021-22 campaign went for the Lakers. Yet, on the bright side, they will at least be able to utilize him next season.

Nevertheless, it will be intriguing to see how Nunn performs after missing an entire year of action. We will find out this upcoming fall.
