NBA Rumors: Bulls A "Strong Suitor" For Top Perimeter Defender

The Chicago Bulls have some pressing issues to deal with this offseason, most notably that of free agent Zach LaVine. Shoring up the defense, which fell off a cliff in the second half of the season, is another priority. Which leads us to the Bulls being called a "strong suitor" for Philadelphia 76ers perimeter defender Matisse Thybulle.

The rumor has some legs, as Bulls GM Marc Eversley "has had a fondness for Thybulle going back to early in his collegiate career at Washington, and was instrumental in pushing the Sixers to acquire him in the 2019 draft," according to NBA Insider Sean Deveney.

The Sixers, meanwhile, would like to clear some cap space this summer, and Thybulle fell out of favor during the playoffs, and once again, couldn't improve his 3-point shooting over the season. He shot 31.3% from behind the arc in the regular season and 28.6% in very limited time in the postseason.

But if it's a beef-up of perimeter defense the Bulls are looking for, Thybulle could be their man.
