NBA Rumors: "Realistic Chance" Kings Trade the No. 4 Pick

The Sacramento Kings had the good fortune of moving up in the lottery, to nab the No. 4 pick in next month's NBA Draft. But if their recent actions offer us a look into the future, says Cole Huff in The Athletic, that 4th pick could soon be on the move.

"Not only do I think they’ll trade the pick, but I also feel that is the right move," writes Huff. "There’s a realistic chance that this No. 4 pick along with Sacramento’s several quality role players and expiring contracts could be packaged together in a trade." Huff suggests that Atlanta Hawks big man John Collins would be a prime target for Sacramento offering that type of package.

The Kings, if you recall, traded promising young guard Tyrese Haliburton, along with sharpshooter Buddy Hield at the trade deadline, to acquire established All-Star Domantas Sabonis. Adding one more well-established star of the Sabonis and De'Aaron Fox ilk could vault them into playoff-contending status.

They tried to go "all in" to make a play-in push this season, it simply makes sense that they carry on with that plan this offseason. The Kings have been left out of the postseason party for the last 16 consecutive years. They'll be making every effort to snap that drought. A 20-year-old rookie isn't likely to help them in that regard.
