Bobby Portis Is Staying Home In Milwaukee

He gave them a hometown discount following the championship season, now Bobby Portis is being rewarded by the Milwaukee Bucks... Big time.

Portis has agreed to a 4-year, $49M contract with the Bucks, with a player option in the final year.

The 6'10" power forward agreed to allow the cap-strapped Bucks to sign him to a very team-friendly 2-year deal after the 2021 season, as he earned just $4.9M this year. He opted out this week, with the full understanding that the Bucks were going to take care of him. And they did.

The 27-year-old started 59 games for the Bucks this past season, filling-in out of position somewhat for injured center Brook Lopez. And he came through big-time, averaging 14.6 points and 9.1 rebounds while shooting 47.9% from the field and 39.3% from 3.

It was a mutual love affair between Portis and Milwaukee all along.
