NBA Rumors: Kyrie Irving Has List Of 6 Teams He'll Consider For Sign-And-Trade

It certainly sounds like another negotiating ploy put out there by Kyrie Irving's camp, but NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that the controversial point guard has a list of teams he wants to go to if he can't come to terms with the Nets.

Woj says the preferred teams he has listed are as follows, in no particular order:

  • Los Angeles Lakers
  • Los Angeles Clippers
  • New York Knicks
  • Miami Heat
  • Dallas Mavericks
  • Philadelphia 76ers
NBA Insider Marc Stein has already noted that "discussions between Irving and his former Cavs teammate LeBron James on a potential reunion have already begun."

It should be pointed out, of course, that none of the above teams, including the Lakers, have the cap space to sign him. The Nets' help, via a sign-and-trade would be needed.

That is, unless Irving wants to pull off one of his "different"-type life decisions that he's made throughout his career, and walk away from $30M to sign a mid-level exception.

The big concern for the Nets in all of this madness, is that it may be scaring off other potential free agents, as noted by Wojnarowski. "Around the Irving drama, the Nets' environment has made it harder to keep and court role players, sources say."
