NBA Rumors: Mavericks & Bucks To "Aggressively Pursue" Suns Center

The Milwaukee Bucks and the Dallas Mavericks will be "aggressively pursuing" a certain free agent Phoenix Suns center, according to ESPN NBA Insider Tim McMahon.

No, not Deandre Ayton. 34-year-old JaVale McGee is the 7-footer in question, coming off a fine year in Phoenix. McGee averaged 9.2 points and 6.7 rebounds in just under 16 minutes a game as Ayton's backup, and he's still got plenty of value around the league.

McGee is reportedly seeking multiple years on his next deal, after signing 1-year deals for most of the last several seasons. He earned $5M from the Suns this past year.

The Mavs could use a 7-footer on the interior to provide some rim protection, and the Bucks are looking for some depth at the position, after trying out the likes of DeMarcus Cousins, Greg Monroe, and Serge Ibaka before starting center Brook Lopez finally returned near the end of the season from back troubles.

McGee, who was once known more for his appearances on Shaqtin' A Fool, looks like he'll have an active market in free agency.
