NBA Rumors: PJ Tucker Expected To Sign Deal With Heat Rival

PJ Tucker won a title with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021, then moved to the Miami Heat where he helped lead them to the East's No. 1 seed in 2022, and if reports are correct, he'll be moving to another Eastern Conference contender for next season.

NBA Insider Marc Stein reports that "numerous rival teams say with even more conviction now than they did last week that they expect P.J. Tucker to land in Philadelphia on a three-year, $30 million deal in free agency."

This would mean a Tucker/Harden reunion; they played together for several years in Houston under Daryl Morey.

And make no mistake, the Morey connection gives the Philadelphia 76ers an upper hand here.

Stein, in fact, suggests "if Pat Riley’s Heat can find a way now to re-sign Tucker, they will definitely surprise some people."

The one issue, however, is that Morey has to make some other moves to clear cap room in order to make this happen.

Stein suggests that Morey is continuing to investigate trade scenarios for Tobias Harris and Matisse Thybulle.
