NBA Rumors: Jazz And Cavaliers Talking Trade

The Utah Jazz are clearly looking to get younger. But that doesn't always mean draft picks. A 23-year-old NBA star who averaged 24 points per game in his last full season would certainly help the rebuild.

According to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, "Utah has explored a sign-and-trade scenario that would send veteran point guard Mike Conley to Cleveland in exchange for restricted free agent Collin Sexton, sources said."

Sexton, who missed most of last season with a torn meniscus, does make a lot of sense for the Jazz. He averaged 24.3 points in the 2020-21 season, along with 4.4 assists, and 37% shooting from long range. Perhaps he even makes it a bit easier to think about trading Donovan Mitchell.

But Fischer questions whether the Cavs would be interested in an aging point guard like Conley in return. Cleveland recently re-signed Ricky Rubio to return as backup to point guard Darius Garland (though admittedly, Rubio likely won't be available to start the season, as he recovers from the torn ACL he suffered last December.)

It's still thought that the Cavs would like to bring Sexton back, but on their terms
