Former Brooklyn Nets Forward Signs To Play in Spain

The 24-year-old played 2+ seasons with the Brooklyn Nets after being drafted in the second round in 2018, but Rodions Kurucs never really got a good foothold on a job in Brooklyn, and was out of the NBA last season. He's now taking his talents to Spain.

Kurucs will be signing with Real Betis Baloncesto of the Spanish League for the 2022-23 season. He played with KK Partizan in Serbia last season.

In one last shot at catching on with an NBA team for the coming year, the 6'9" forward played four games with the Toronto Raptors Summer League team in July. In 21 minutes per game, he averaged 5.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocks.

He last played in the NBA in the 2020-21 season, splitting time between Brooklyn, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Houston Rockets.

In 131 total NBA games, he averaged 6 points and 3 rebounds in about 16 minutes per contest.
