NBA Rumors: 2 Toronto Raptors Trade Candidates

The Toronto Raptors have been linked to several trade rumors this summer. The team is mixed with some young talent, a veteran core, and a management team that's not shy to make a bold move. While last season was a learning experience for the Raptors after they bounced back from a slow start, the 2022-23 season will be fun to watch in the North. If management is going to be a major player for some of the big names available on the trade market, look for these two Raptors to be prime trade candidates:

OG Anunoby

One thing we do know is Scottie Barnes isn't going anywhere, and OG Anunoby has been discussed in several different trades this summer including talks for Rudy Gobert and for Kevin Durant. The 24-year-old versatile wing is coming off a fine season, recording 17.1 points per game, four rebounds, and 1.5 steals. Anunoby has worked tirelessly on his mid-range jumper and is starting to shoot the rock better from deep. The former first-round pick is looking forward to a healthy season in hopes he can play more than 48 games in 2022-23. Teams to keep an eye on here continue to be the Brooklyn Nets in Durant discussions, along with the Portland Trail Blazers who have shown interest in the past.

Gary Trent Jr

The Raptors are committed to Barnes and to Pascal Siakam, so don't expect either to be involved in any big trade. Gary Trent Jr on the other hand....a name that's been mentioned in trade rumors this summer. The 23-year-old Duke product appeared in 70 games last season in Toronto, including 69 starts and averaged 18.3 ppg, two assists and 1.7 steals per game. The Raptors love his athleticism and compete level, however if they are going to land a 1-A All-Star, he's the type of young talent that will need to be involved in the deal. Packaging both Trent Jr and Anunoby could land the team a star, so keep an eye on the North as the Raps may go all-in next season.
