Warriors Sign G League Rookie Of The Year

The Golden State Warriors have officially added three players to the organization, headlined with the signing of Mac McClung, the 2022 G-League Rookie of the Year.

McClung averaged 21.7 points, 7.6 assists, 6.6 rebounds and 1.4 steals across 27 games as a member of the South Bay Lakers and Windy City Bulls. He signed on with the Warriors for the 2022 Summer League, where he impressed once again.

He registered a triple-double in the G League on Feb. 3, with 29 points, 11 assists and 11 rebounds for South Bay. In his next game, the 6'2" point guard recorded a career-high 37 points against the Santa Cruz Warriors, likely catching the attention of the NBA team's scouts.

He went undrafted in the 2021 NBA Draft, before playing that year's Summer League for the Los Angeles Lakers. In the 2022 Summer League, he posted 13.4 points and 4.8 assists for the Warriors, enough to earn him the non-guaranteed contract, allowing him to compete for a spot on the team's 15-man roster at training camp.

The 23-year-old played just two NBA games this past season, one with the Chicago Bulls and one with the Los Angeles Lakers.
