Heat Sign Free Agent Guard

After an impressive Summer League performance, the Miami Heat have signed a player who's very familiar with the organization.

The Exhibit 10 deal for guard Dru Smith brings the Heat training camp roster to a full 20 players.

The 24-year-old brings some serious tenacity on defense, as he displayed in Summer League for the Heat, registering an impressive 3.0 steals per game, to go along with 12 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists.

Smith also played for the Heat's G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, last season. He posted averages of 14.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 1.9 steals per game in eight Showcase Cup contests.

His four-year college career at Missouri finished in 2021 with a selection in his senior year to the All-SEC First Team. He also became the first player in school history to be named to the SEC All-Defensive Team. Smith led the conference in steals his final two years with the Tigers.
