Jazz Sign Two Free Agent Centers

The Utah Jazz have found some replacements for center Rudy Gobert. Well, sort of. They've firmed up their big man depth heading into training camp (pending any trades still to be executed) by signing two free agent centers— one with plenty of NBA experience.

Micah Potter had a very strong season in the G League last year, and was just recently waived by the Detroit Pistons. The 6'10", 248 pound center spent his rookie year first with the Miami Heat's Sioux City Skyforce affiliate, averaging 17.2 points and 9.8 rebounds, while shooting 44.5% from 3-point range in 33 G League games.

He was then signed to a 10-day contract with the Pistons, though only got into three games. Potter gets a two-way deal with the Jazz.

Cody Zeller is a 9-year veteran of the NBA wars, eight of those seasons with the Charlotte Hornets. He has career marks of 8.5 points and 6.0 rebounds in about 22 minutes per game. He was with Portland last year, who waived him just before the trade deadline.

The 29-year-old will compete for a spot on the Jazz roster at training camp.
