Blazers Superstar Damian Lillard To Miss Some Time

After a blistering 4-1 start to the season, this is not the news the Portland Trail Blazers wanted to hear. Franchise player Damian Lillard will be out at least 1 to 2 weeks with a calf strain.

He'll be re-evaluated after that time and an assessment on his readiness will be made then.

The injury occurred on a play in the third quarter. It's not clear if he took a knee or what exactly happened.

Lillard came down noticeably hobbling and wincing, but said afterwards that he could have stayed in the game if it was the playoffs. Now, however, he'll have to give it some rest.

Terrible timing, as Lillard was off to a sizzling start to the young season, averaging 31 points per game—including two 40+ point games—with 4.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists. He's also shooting 39.2% from three-point range.

He was named Player of the Week for the first week of the season.
