Grizzlies Promising Young Player Out 4-6 Weeks

The Memphis Grizzlies have received some bad news on the injury front, as they've learned that second-year forward Ziaire Williams will be out much longer than originally anticipated.

Williams began to suffer from a sore knee early in training camp, and missed the team's last two preseason games as well as all four of their regular season games thus far. But they say that the diagnosis of patellar tendinitis will now have him out for another 4-to-6 weeks.

After going with the No. 10 pick in the lottery in the 2021 NBA Draft, Williams had a nice start to his career, starting in half of the 62 games he played in,  and averaged 8.1 points and 2.1 rebounds in 21.7 minutes per night.

The 21-year-old was expected to play a major role for the Grizzlies this season. While he's out,  rookies Jake LaRavia and David Roddy will help fill his minutes.
