NBA Rumors: Mavericks Consider Signing Dime-Dazzling Point Guard

Between Luka Doncic and Spencer Dinwiddie, the Dallas Mavericks have most of their ballhandling duties accounted for. But the word from NBA Insider Marc Stein is that they are considering the possibility of bringing in Facu Campazzo as a backup.

Campazzo spent the past two seasons with the Denver Nuggets in a backup role, averaging 5.6 points and 3.5 assists in 20 minutes per contest. He's a liability on defense, but the 5'10" Argentinian can handle the ball and is a highlight-reel passer.

Stein reports that the Mavs' original intention coming into camp was to leave one roster spot open, while giving players under contract first crack at backup point guard minutes behind Doncic and Dinwiddie.
But now with the regular season closing in, Stein says, Dallas could still elect to bring in Campazzo or another vet as a third PG.

Campazzo has some interest from EuroLeague teams, but his goal is to remain in the NBA if possible.
