Former Lottery Pick Joins Kings' G League Team

After two-plus years with the Dallas Mavericks, nine-year veteran point guard Trey Burke had been an unrestricted free agent without a home this season. Until now. He's signed on with the Stockton Kings of the G League.

The 30-year-old Burke has been with five different teams over the past nine years since the Minnesota Timberwolves made him the No. 9 selection in the 2013 NBA Draft. The T-Wolves traded him to the Utah Jazz before his rookie season, and he had a nice 3-year run there, putting up 12.1 points and 4.2 assists for the Jazz.

From there, he moved on to the Washington Wizards, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers and Dallas Mavericks.

Burke played 42 games for the Mavs last season, playing just 10 minutes per contest, averaging 5 points.

He last played in the G League in 2017-18, when he averaged 26.6 points and 5.3 assists for Westchester Knicks.

He'll try to put up some big numbers with the Kings' affiliate in an attempt to rouse up an NBA team's interest once again.
