NBA Rumors: Miami Heat Linked To Detroit Pistons In Trade Talks

He was considered a core piece of the Detroit Pistons rebuild coming in the 2022-23 season. But a bit of a backslide over the first third of the season has the Pistons re-thinking their commitment to Saddiq Bey, and he reportedly can be had if the price is right.

We reported over the past week about the availability of Pistons center Nerlens Noel, as well as the now well-known rumors of a Bojan Bogdanovic trade. But Bey's name is now seriously making the rounds.

The Miami Heat are said to be one team that's expressed interest.

According to Pistons beat writer James Edwards III of The Athletic, "the Pistons have answered calls and had discussions about Bey," and "the sense I’ve received when talking to people around the league is that the 23-year-old may be gettable at the right price, though the 'right price' is unclear."

Bey is off to a vexing start to the season, shooting a career-low 29.9% from downtown in this, his 3rd year. He's averaging 14.8 points, down from 16 last season, while pulling down 4.4 boards, also down one from last year.

The Pistons are currently on their way to a big-time run at Victor Wembanyama, as they sit with the worst record in the NBA at 7-22, and without their best player, Cade Cunningham, who has been lost for the season
