NBA Rumors: The Next Superstar To Demand Trade Could Come From Atlanta

A superstar requesting a trade is not an uncommon occurrence in the NBA these days, and according to Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report, the newest one to add to the list could very well be the Atlanta Hawks' Trae Young.

Per Haynes:

Rival executives in attendance at the NBA's annual G League Winter Showcase are of the belief that Atlanta Hawks star point guard Trae Young could be the next player on a rookie max extension to request a trade if the team doesn't make inroads come postseason time.

The Hawks were a disappointment last season, after making the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021. They followed that up by struggling to make the Play-In, then lost in five games in the first round to the Miami Heat.

This season, the Hawks are currently sitting in 8th place in the Eastern Conference, at 16-16.

Young is averaging 27.6 points and 9.8 assists, but is shooting just 30.7% from the three-point line.

The Hawks have been rife with issues this season, with rumors, in fact, that things are getting "toxic" around the team.
