NBA Rumors: Two Teams Expressing Interest In Kyle Kuzma

Kyle Kuzma is having a career-best scoring year for the Washington Wizards. He's averaging 20.6 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists. And while the Wiz love him in DC, he is a potential free agent who could opt out of his $13M option for next season, and his performance has other teams coming calling for him.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, "several teams, such as the Atlanta Hawks and Phoenix Suns, have expressed trade interest in Kuzma, according to league sources."

The Wizards, in turn, have apparently shown interest in Hawks forward John Collins, who's perenially on the trade block. In fact, Charania notes, the two sides "seriously discussed a potential deal last offseason, league sources added."

ESPN's Brian Windhorst has also heard that "executives from various teams are trying to get Kuzma out of Washington," though he doubts that the Wiz would have any interest in trading him now, with the season he's having. Team general manager Tommy Sheppard certainly doesn't sound like someone who's ready to move on from Kuzma:

“Kyle has such a great personality and demeanor, and he has so much more room to grow in the future for us. We’re really excited for his future growth here.”

The Suns, meanwhile, are still trying to move Jae Crowder, and could be trying to pry Kuzma out of Washington in return.
