NBA Rumors: Two Teams Remain "Persistent" In Chasing Jakob Poeltl

It's one of the trade rumors that won't go away. Once again, San Antonio Spurs center Jakob Poeltl's name is surfacing in scuttlebutt around the league, linked to two teams who are remaining "persistent" in chasing him.

The Toronto Raptors and Golden State Warriors could each use an elite center with Poeltl's skill set. LJ Ellis of SpursTalk says the price for the 7-footer hasn't come down.

The player that the Spurs get the most inquiries about is Jakob Poeltl. San Antonio’s asking price for Poeltl continues to be a pair of first-round picks with limited protections.

The Raptors are the team with which Poeltl began his career, and have been linked to him again since last year's trade deadline. But, as Ellis notes, Toronto hasn't been willing to go more than one first-rounder yet in an offer.

Ellis also goes on to say that neither James Wiseman nor Jonathan Kuminga interest the Spurs as a return from Golden State.

San Antonio will continue to retain a tough bargaining stance on Poeltl, however, as they've apparently already decided that the possibility of pairing him with the potential No. 1 pick in the 2023 Draft, Victor Wembanyama—should they be fortunate enough to get him—would be a "perfect fit."
