Top 3 Available Players Who Become Trade-Eligible On December 15

December 15th is a big date in the NBA. It marks the day that most players signed during the summer are eligible to be dealt. This is when trade talk is expected to ramp up considerably.

With the help of HoopsHype's Michael Scotto and Yossi Gozlan, let's have a look at the top 3 names that could become available for trades.

John Wall, Los Angeles Clippers

With a salary at the taxpayer mid-level exception ($6.5M), Wall's contract is certainly tradable if the Clippers are looking for a shooting upgrade from their backup point guard. Wall is only hitting on 27.3% of his threes this season and there was a report just a couple of weeks' back that indicated they might be willing to move the 32-year-old.

Caleb Martin, Miami Heat

The Heat are said to be interested in a reunion with Phoenix Suns holdout power forward Jae Crowder (and the interest is mutual), so the Dec. 15th loosening of the grip on trade pieces could finally get something done here. As Scotto notes, the Heat could withstand losing Martin and his 41% long-range shooting due to several other snipers on the roster.

Danilo Gallinari

After signing Gallo in the offseason, the Celtics never got to see the sharpshooter in uniform, as he tore up his knee at EuroBasket and is out for the season. But they might get to see some rewards from the signing still. As Gozlan notes, "trading him for an equal-salary player seems to be the most cost-effective way to strengthen the roster." Or they could even package his $6.5M along with another contract to bring in something of greater value for this year.

There are a multitude of other players who will enter into trade talks beginning Dec. 15th, and the names will start to emerge quickly.
