Lakers Taking A Look At DeMarcus Cousins

He's been begging for another shot at the NBA since the fall, and now it appears the Los Angeles Lakers will be giving him a look. 4-time All-Star DeMarcus Cousins will be in LA next week for a workout.

According to Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report, the Lakers will be bringing in Boogie for an evaluation to see if he can help them in the frontcourt.

Teams are now able to sign players to 10-day contracts, which is likely what they'd be looking at, if interested. Cousins is more than familiar with those, as he signed a few last season with first the Milwaukee Bucks and then the Denver Nuggets.

Boogie has been working out for this opportunity, according to Haynes, six days a week in Las Vegas.

Cousins was an explosive (in more ways than one) center in the NBA for years, until leg injuries derailed his career. In recent years, he's become a stopgap solution for teams looking for some size, and he averaged 8.9 points and 5.5 rebounds in 13.9 minutes in 31 games with the Nuggets last season.

The 11-year veteran has a career mark of 19.6 points, 10.2 rebounds and 1.1 blocks.
