Denver Nuggets' Michael Porter Jr. Questionable For Saturday's Game Against Philadelphia 76ers

The Denver Nuggets are apparently uncertain about the status of their young star Michael Porter Jr. After initially declining to list him on the injury report for Saturday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers, the Nuggets designated Porter Jr. questionable with personal reasons Friday evening. Porter Jr. has already missed three consecutive games for his personal reasons, so he could very well be out yet again on Saturday. He missed a stretch of 13 games from November to December with a heel injury, but it is not thought to have anything to do with his current predicament.

Porter Jr. has been a valuable player when available for the Nuggets this season, averaging 16.2 points per game with a solid .476 field goal percentage. However, he has yet to truly rediscover his promise since a back injury derailed his 2021-22 season. In his last healthy season, Porter Jr. scored 19.0 points per game with an impressive .542 field goal percentage over 61 appearances.

At 34-15, the Nuggets sit comfortably atop the Western Conference standings. They can likely afford to play it safe with Porter Jr. Hopefully, a little bit of time and space will help him to get his body and mind right.
