NBA Rumors: Top 3 Trade Candidates From The Charlotte Hornets

The Play-In Tournament has added hope to that many more teams around the NBA of making the playoffs, which has had the effect of reducing the number of sellers at the trade deadline. But one team that's most certainly ready to sell, is the Charlotte Hornets.

The Bugs are currently dead-last in the Eastern Conference at 11-34, and just a half-game "behind" the Houston Rockets for the top spot in the Victor Wembanyama Tank-A-Thon sweepstakes.

Three trade candidates who could be on the move from Charlotte:

Terry Rozier

The Hornets are "expected to listen to suitors" for the 7-year veteran, according to Insider Shams Charania. He is having a career-year in the Charlotte backcourt, averaging 20.8 points and 5.3 assists, both personal bests. He does have three years left on a 4-year, $97M extension he signed in 2021, so that could make him a bit tougher to move.

Mason Plumlee

The 10-year veteran big man is on a $9.1M expiring contract. He has some value, as he's averaging career-highs in points (11.4), rebounds (9.8) and assists (3.7), while shooting 65.7% from the floor. He's among the top five centers in dimes.

Kelly Oubre Jr.

Another expiring contract (12.6M), and another veteran putting up career highs (points: 20.2, steals: 1.6). He's currently out with a hand injury that required surgery, but is expected back in mid-February, plenty of time to help a contender heading for the playoffs.

Honorable mention: Jalen McDaniels, who we learned today has a suitor in the Eastern Conference
