Wizards Kyle Kuzma Takes Shot At Spencer Dinwiddie After Beating Mavericks

It was a frantic game right down to the buzzer, but in the end, the Washington Wizards handed the Dallas Mavericks their 7th loss in their last nine games, 127-126. And the frantic pace continued after the game as well, as Mavs' guard Spencer Dinwiddie and Wizards' star Kyle Kuzma went at it in the postgame comments.

Dinwiddie trashed the 21-26 Wizards, insinuating that they're playing for contracts instead of wins. "For them, it’s a showcase. They're over there trying to get paid, not trying to play winning basketball," said Dinwiddie. Then referring to his own Mavericks, he added, "For a team that has real aspirations and has an MVP, went to the conference finals last year, we have to be better to a man."

Kuzma, an impending free agent after the season, who led the Wizards in scoring with 30 points and hit the game-deciding free throw to break the tie with five seconds left, shot back on Twitter with "The funny thing is they don’t play winning basketball 🀣🀣🀣✌🏽✌🏽✌πŸ½πŸ‘‹πŸ½πŸ€‘"  The clown emoji at the end, of course, a direct shot at Dinwiddie.

And based on the Mavs' 2-7 record over their last nine, it's not hard to see Kuzma's point. The Wizards have now won three in a row, and are one game back of the Play-In in the East.

The Mavs drop to 25-24 in an extremely crowded middle of the West, where only 1.5 games separates the 5th seed from the 11th.
