Insider: Brooklyn Nets Have "Very Interesting" Offers To Make To Toronto Raptors

ESPN NBA Insider Brian Windhorst usually doesn't drop any intel unless it's very well-informed. He suggested on his Hoop Collective podcast on Monday that the Brooklyn Nets are most certainly engaged in trade talks with the Toronto Raptors, and have some "very interesting" pieces to offer.

If the Nets could flip some of the stuff that they got (in the Kyrie Irving trade with Dallas) and pry OG Anunoby out of there, you might have something there... The Nets have three picks that they could trade.

I'm just telling you that the Nets' offering ability with what Toronto has is suddenly very interesting. I'm just going to leave it at that.

He went on to point out that the Toronto Raptors tried to obtain center Nic Claxton from Brooklyn at last year's deadline. It's unlikely that the Nets would be willing to part with him now after a breakthrough season, but Windhorst did offer another suggestion:

I know that Dorian Finney-Smith (obtained from the Mavs) isn't OG Anunoby, but... that's not bad.

Finney-Smith is indeed one of the top wing defenders in the NBA, and he's signed for three more seasons at a reasonable average $14M cap hit.

Bottom line, when Windhorst drops a little "I'm just telling you..." nugget like that, it's worth keeping an eye on. He is the one, after all, who gave us a little "something's happening" finger wave just before the huge Rudy Gobert trade shocked the basketball world last summer.
