NBA Rumors: Sixers Have Jazz Big Man On Their Radar

The Philadelphia 76ers are looking to fortify their frontcourt at the trade deadline. In particular, they're looking for a big man to spell some relief for Joel Embiid at center.

Among the leading targets they're seriously pursuing, according to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, is Jarred Vanderbilt of the Utah Jazz.

It's an interesting consideration, as Vanderbilt's most natural position is at the 'four', but Philly likes what they see of the big man.

While teams... have viewed the 6-foot-9 Vanderbilt as an attractive option at power forward, Vanderbilt has been described by league personnel as a leading target in Philadelphia’s quest to fortify its frontcourt reserves behind Joel Embiid.

Vanderbilt has been linked to a number of teams in this trade cycle, and late last week was pegged by Shams Charania as a prime target of the Portland Trail Blazers.

He's also been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers, Atlanta Hawks and the New York Knicks, in some trade scenarios that also include Vanderbilt's teammate Malik Beasley. Both of them are on the list of players 'Most Likely To Be Traded' by Thursday's deadline.

It's unclear at this point if Vanderbilt's missing practice today in Utah due to a back issue will be a factor in any of these trade talks.

The big man is averaging 8.3 points and 7.9 rebounds in 24 minutes per game this season.
