Phoenix Suns' Deandre Ayton Dominates in Win Over Brooklyn Nets

The Phoenix Suns took advantage of a Brooklyn Nets team in flux on Tuesday night, securing a 116-112 win. Center Deandre Ayton was the player of the game, logging 35 points, 15 rebounds, and one steal in his second straight dominant game.

Ayton also compiled 31 points and 16 rebounds in a 116-100 win over the Detroit Pistons on Saturday. Over his past two games, Ayton has hit on an incredible 27 of his 33 field goal attempts. For the season, he's averaging 18.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists with a .586 field goal percentage.

Ayton's solid play has kept the Suns afloat in what has been a tumultuous season. Even with Devin Booker and Chris Paul missing more than 20 games apiece, the Suns are 30-26 and fifth in the Western Conference. If the trio can come together over the closing stretch of the season, the Suns will still have a chance to make themselves heard in the postseason. The three players were the main reason why the team made the Finals following the 2020-21 season and finished with the NBA's best record in 2021-22.

The Suns travel to Atlanta to face the Hawks on Thursday.
