Report: Atlanta Hawks Have Officially Offered Head Coaching Job To Top Candidate

It's only a matter of time now. According to NBA Insider Shams Charania, the Atlanta Hawks have officially offered their head coaching job to former Utah Jazz head coach Quin Snyder.

Charania says "both sides are working toward a deal."

Quin Snyder is doing his due diligence on the position, getting infoirmatioun on the job and exactly when he wants to make the final decision... but there are strong signs that he will accept the job.

I'm told  a deal could be in the range of about $8M per year. And this is a position that Snyder has had significant interest in.

The Hawks are looking for Snyder to bring in culture, leadership and accountability from the troops, especially. Is that geared specifically towards outlaw franchise player Trae Young?

When you think about it from a Trae Young perspective, he hasn't ever really had a superstar head coach. Yes, Nate McMillan was very accomplished, but when you think about head coaches right now, Quin Snyder is arguably the best coaching candidate on the market, one of the best coaches in the league.

In his eight years at the helm of the Utah Jazz, Snyder had an excellent .585 winning percentage, and earned plenty of respect from his players, and around the league.

If Snyder is indeed coming in, Charania says, it'll essentially be put up or shut up for Young and the Hawks.

"At the end of the day, the bottom line: There's no more excuses anymore for Trae Young, and soon, potentially, Quin Snyder."
